Elton Academy Fencing Department Head, Leo Martiang's office.
Knock knock.
"This is Stella."
"Professor Stella, come in."
Stella Cloud opened the door and entered.
"Fencing Department Head, you've had a long journey."
"Not at all. Thanks to your consideration, Professor, I had a very comfortable trip back. Please, have a seat here."
Stella pouted, a look of complaint on her face.
"Master!"
It was a voice she hadn't shown to anyone at the academy for the past year.
Leo Martiang smiled and gestured to the sofa.
"Now that you're a full-fledged professor, I must treat you accordingly."
"Don't tease me!"
Even her voice now held a hint of playfulness.
Always an upright posture and a knife-like demeanor.
Strength hidden behind an expressionless face.
It was a way of speaking that would surprise anyone else at the academy if they heard it.
Leo, the head of the Fencing Department, laughed heartily.
"Come, sit here."
"After returning in a year, the first thing you do is tease your student?"
"Tease? I'm serious. You're a full professor now. I'll continue to use respectful language in front of others, so be aware of that."
"Oh, Master."
Stella twisted her shoulders as she sat down.
Anyone who saw it would surely rub their eyes and look again.
Stella Cloud twisting her shoulders like that.
"Did you resolve the issues in the capital well?"
"Knowing what I went there to do, how can you ask such a thing? If I had resolved it well, that incident wouldn't have happened recently."
"Are you referring to the attempted mass murder of the freshmen?"
"Yes. I heard that kid stopped it again? Davian Naohene."
"Yes. I don't know how he knew, but he managed to stop it well. There were casualties, but he did a good job. The enemy numbered over 100, and there was even a necromancer."
"We, the adults, can't root out that damn spy organization, so even the young students are suffering."
"Are you hurt anywhere?"
Suddenly, Stella's eyes became moist.
But she didn't shed any tears.
No matter how much she complains and acts affectionately in front of Leo Martiang.
Stella Cloud wasn't weak enough to show tears so easily.
"Do you know how worried I was? You know how many people die when you dig into the spy organization or related people."
Leo Martiang raised his hand and stroked Stella's head once.
"You little rascal. Don't tell me you were worried that your fencing master would be defeated by those spy bastards. I can't find any respect for your master in you."
"That's not what I meant!"
Leo laughed heartily.
"This girl, with her temper. You haven't changed a bit since you were young."
"Master, you've aged a lot. You have wrinkles all over."
"You little rascal!"
Leo Martiang was Stella Cloud's master, father, and the only person she could confide in.
Of course, he wasn't her biological father.
Leo continued.
"Once they realized I was digging into them, they tried some dirty tricks. I don't know how many assassins they sent."
Stella asked, surprised, "Really? Are you really not hurt anywhere?"
"You're still saying you can't find any respect for your master. Do you think your master is someone who would be taken down by mere assassins? I didn't get a scratch, so don't worry."
"Phew, that's a relief."
"But didn't you say you were going to finish the work before returning?"
"Hugo Molton, the President, and Sirims Andrian, the Head of the Magic Department, visited the capital together recently."
Stella hadn't heard that story.
The two of them together?
"When?"
"About a month ago, I think."
"What did you talk about?"
"It was about that child. Davian Naohene."
Stella's eyes widened.
"Davian?"
"Yes. So I called you here to hear about that child. You directly mentored him for a year, didn't you? Tell me how Davian has grown over the past year. What kind of kid is he?"
What kind of kid is he?
A crazy genius.
"It was the day he first held a sword. At first, he said he had never held a sword before, so I thought he was lying, but when I saw how he gripped the hilt, I knew it was true."
"He hadn't held a sword before entering the academy?"
"Yes. That day, when he first held a sword, he beat a 1-star swordsman student. He got beat up a lot, though."
"He must have intentionally lured him into carelessness to aim for a counter."
Even though he hadn't seen the scene.
Leo accurately guessed how Davian had won just by listening to Stella's brief explanation.
"Yes! That's right. He even let go of the sword handle and grabbed it again to increase his reach when the opponent used inner force to retreat."
"That was the day he first held a sword. He must be a genius."
"Is that all?"
And so, Stella began to unravel the story of Davian's growth.
"……He had a formal duel with a 4th-year student who was a 5-star knight?"
"Yes. I didn't see it myself, but I heard he won overwhelmingly. Of course, he used magic together."
"And that was before the end of the first semester?"
"Yes."
As if listening to the story of his chattering daughter.
For a long time, Leo listened to the story of Davian's growth over the year.
"What about the promotion exam? He took his first promotion exam as a 5-star. He broke twenty stone slabs……."
"I heard about the promotion exam from the Fencing Society President. He was desperate to scout Davian. He said he would take him and create a fencing textbook or something."
"You heard everything."
Leo nodded and continued.
"But that story was a bit unexpected."
"What story?"
"The story about him going to the Meridium Marquis family this time and defeating the Faceless Assassin."
"Why? Isn't our Davian really amazing?"
A smile appeared on Leo's face.
Our Davian.
Stella has a student she likes this much.
You've really grown up now.
Stella Cloud.
'I'll teach him this year, and next year, I'll give him back to you.'
Originally, Leo was planning to return after a few more years.
The work in the capital wasn't finished yet.
And when he returned, the first thing he would do as the Head of the Fencing Department was to take the 1st-year class.
But Leo Martiang took over the 2nd year class, which Davian belonged to, as soon as he returned.
In fact, the reason for his return was Davian Naohene himself.
"I know that Davian is a great talent, but the Faceless Assassin is not someone who can be defeated so easily."
Stella asked, surprised, "Do you know who the Faceless Assassin is?"
"No, I don't. But there is someone I can guess."
"Who is it?"
"It's a bit ambiguous to say since it's not certain."
"I see."
Stella didn't ask anything at Leo's words that it was ambiguous to say.
"Anyway, he's not someone Davian can defeat."
"I heard that Glacier-nim appeared and helped."
Leo stroked his handsome beard.
"Then it makes sense. I'm surprised he didn't die on the spot."
"Anyway, isn't he great?"
"Yes. He's a great guy. Enough to change the history of this country."
"……Is that why you came back?"
Leo nodded.
"The President and the Head of the Magic Department specifically asked me to. They also helped persuade the King."
"You came back to teach Davian? Putting aside the work directly ordered by the King?"
"Yes. We discussed what would be more urgent for the sake of this country."
Stella nodded.
"If you teach him directly……this year will be another significant year for Davian."
"I heard that the President gave him a teaching once. And then he immediately used aura freely and walked around."
"Yes, that's right. I was so surprised."
Stella held up her index finger as if something had come to mind.
"Come to think of it, Professor Kinesis too?"
"That's right. It's been a long time since he passed his retirement age. Originally, he was going to step down from the faculty last year and remain as a research professor."
"Yes, I remember. But the fact that he's taking the 2nd year class again……."
"It's to teach Davian more."
"It would have been too much for the Head of the Magic Department to take the 2nd year class again, so Professor Camilla took charge of the 2nd year. She's praised as a genius in applied magic who is expanding new concepts in 4-element magic."
Leo nodded.
Stella laughed.
"It feels like the 2nd year faculty is set up for Davian Naohene?"
"You're right."
"Anyway, he's a great guy. Actually, I also told the President that I would take the 2nd year class this time. It was all ruined because you came, Master."
"Lend him to me for this one year. Next year, I'll make him your student again."
Stella Cloud smiled brightly.
"Really?"
"Yes, you little rascal."
"Tomorrow is your first Fencing Department class, right? How will you do the first class?"
"I'll have to check Davian's skills."
"Unfortunately, he already has no rivals among his classmates. Maybe Bonita Fortis at best?"
"I wasn't planning on checking his skills that way in the first place."
"Then?"
"I'm going to check it in my own way."
Stella asked, surprised, "……Right away on the first day?"
2nd year 4-element magic first class time.
Professor Camilla appeared today again wearing her messy hair, a stretched-out t-shirt, and loose pants.
Unlike the opening ceremony, she wasn't wearing a robe either.
"Nice to meet you. My name is Camilla Lucia. Feel free to call me Professor Camilla."
It was the first time they had seen her face since the opening ceremony.
Most of the magic department students knew Camilla Lucia's name.
"I didn't know she was such a beautiful person."
"Something……something rough and sexy."
"Crazy. What are you saying about the professor? What if she hears you?"
"Is that really Professor Camilla Lucia? The rising star of applied magic."
"Yeah. The Professor Camilla who has published over ten papers that overturn existing theories."
Camilla Lucia.
During her time at Elton Academy, she was said to be a famous troublemaker.
She rarely concentrated in class, was always full of questions, and didn't properly follow the curriculum.
But when she got hooked on something, she would chase after the relevant professor until they were sick of her, bombarding them with questions.
But every time, her exam scores were in the top ranks.
Camilla's true worth was revealed after graduation.
Even during her time at school, she was interested in all sorts of strange applied magic.
She mixed various magic and twisted the manifestation mechanism to create new magic.
Eventually, she succeeded in creating a small lightning bolt by applying 4-element magic.
Camilla wrote a paper and included the lightning she created through her own magic in the 4-element magic, calling it "5-element magic."
Everyone was surprised when she first demonstrated it.
Soon, however, Camilla's paper was rejected by academia.
It was amazing and wonderful to create lightning by applying fire element magic and water element magic.
It was useless.
Camilla insisted on being recognized as the fifth element magic.
Academia argued that it was not possible to call anything other than the ancient 4 elements as 5 elements, and Camilla's paper was eventually completely ignored.
After that, Camilla did not demonstrate lightning magic or submit additional papers.
However, she continued to accumulate achievements in numerous other applied magic, and eventually obtained a professorship at Elton Academy.
The applied magic that Camilla was recognized for by academia was usually useful in everyday life.
Camilla looked around at the students sitting in the lecture hall.
'That's him. Now, it's time to show you why I created useless everyday applied magic and earned a professorship.'
